Safety Beyond Tyres
Bramham leading the field is rider safety
Bramham International Horse Trials today announced the trial of the Vanguard Modular Operating Theatre at this year's event. Bramham, one of the top nine Three Day Events in the UK, recognised under the British Eventing Invesco Perpetual Premier League banner, will be taking delivery of this cutting edge technology which will be operated as a casualty clearing station. The unit consists of an anaesthetic room, an operating theatre and a recovery room, and is designed to treat casualties on-site before moving them to hospital.
Chips Browning FRCS, Bramham's Medical Director, said "We are delighted to have this exceptional unit on site, which will enable us to give the best possible care and treatment to any riders requiring it. We obviously hope that we won't have to use it, however the sport is not without risk, and we need to be best prepared for every eventuality."
Event Organiser, Mr George Lane Fox said "We are committed to constantly improving safety for both riders and horses. Bramham has a dedicated team of medical professionals for whom this unit will be an important facility in the care and welfare of our competitors".
Sponsored by Goodyear, the mobile unit will be onsite at Bramham for the duration of the event, which this year will take place from 7th to 10th June. It will be the first time facilities of this type have been available at an equestrian event in the UK.
