Safety Beyond Tyres
Goodyear has joined the British Eventing team as the official Safety and Innovation Partner, championing the continued development and roll-out of new initiatives to minimise accidents at the trials.
British Eventing pins safety hopes on Goodyear.
It's a process that's already begun, with the introduction of the frangible pin, helping to protect competitors in a situation that's been identified as one of the most dangerous in cross-country riding.
To give the opportunity to avoid the most awkward falls, the pin is designed to break under a set weight bearing strain, so fences will give way when a horse hits them unusually high.
British Eventing is now looking to build on this development with other similar breakthroughs, and turned to Goodyear when they were seeking the right partner for this critical element in the future of the sport.
British Eventing chairman Alex Fox is confident that developing partnerships with organisations like Goodyear will bring new enthusiasm and expertise to the arena: "Goodyear have been one of the world's leading innovators over the years, so it's a great coup to have joined forces with them. The more we discussed the partnership the more we realised how perfect a fit it would be."
Goodyear will now build on last year's involvement with British Eventing with a presence at all this season's major events. In particular, we'll be providing parking and crossing stewards to increase safety and enjoyment at the occasions, presenting prizes and providing expert assistance for eventers equipping their vehicles for travel to competitions.
