Steering Response
Due to the level of wear on my old tyres the difference in grip was instantly noticeable, particularly on static manoeuvres i.e. parking, 3 point turn.
Braking
Fortunately I've not had to perform any emergency type stops so I'm unable to comment on their effectiveness, however I've no doubt that they'd perform.
Road Noise
No more noticeable than previous tyres, however I assume my diesel engine tends to mask out any noise.
Ride Comfort
Comfy as ever, no real difference noticed!
Cornering Grip
This is the first area where the new tyres stood out. Although not a performance car by any means, the Scenic still handles pretty well, and on back country roads the new tyres really feel as if they hold the road better than my previous ones. This is even more evident in the wet as it feels like you're still driving on a dry road.
Wet Weather Performance:
Definitely the area where the difference in tyres is most noticeable! The first couple of weeks of having the tyres was a bit of a dry spell and so I couldn't pass comment, however as soon as we had a few bursts of rain the extra grip during cornering on local roads was really noticeable.
It was during one of our long motorway journeys to Southampton that the tyres really excelled. We had two or three really heavy downpours on the way which created a lot of surface water. I initially slowed down to avoid any aquaplaning, however I soon realised that the tyres dispersed the water really well which meant I could continue to drive at normal motorway speeds with complete confidence.
Other Comments:
So far, so good. I thought I was imagining the difference in the wet at first, but the wife agrees!
