An imaginative young artist is being given the opportunity to see one of their drawings brought to life in front of thousands of spectators.
Goodyear will once again join forces with British Eventing as 2008 Innovation and Safety Partner, and to celebrate the link the leading tyre company is offering entrants the chance to theme a Goodyear fence at one of the sport's most celebrated occasions.
For the second year running the search is on to find young artists to dress a new cross-country jump, with the best one being developed by Gatcombe's official course designer Captain Mark Phillips and incorporated in the course at this summer's Festival of Eventing.
There is a template to work from and each fence has to meet strict safety criteria so we are looking for theming concepts rather than a final fence design, as the theme will need to be modified and revised to pass the guidelines set out.
There will be three age categories for the competition:
- Under 9
- 9 to under 14
- 14 to under 18
All winners will receive framed prints of their drawing signed by Captain Mark Phillips. In addition, the overall winner will receive tickets for family of 4 to see their fence showcased at Gatcombe (on Sunday August 3rd 2008), the home of Princess Anne
The deadline for entries is June 6th, when designs will be posted onto the Goodyear website and a winner will be selected by the expert panel.
